We like to think of ourselves as food pioneers, bravely tasting, sipping and testing our way through the province.
Ok, it’s true, sometimes we just head down to the corner liquor store but you get the point. We recently discovered Fort Berens Pinot Gris ($20-23) from the Fraser Canyon in Lillooet at New Zealand online casino party– yes, there’s gold in them there hills. The vineyard is built on the location of a trading post that served prospectors who came to the area in search of real gold. This pinot gris is crisp and fruity with aromas of pear and orange blossom. I paired this with steamed sockeye salmon with a pesto mayo and it was delicious.
